Can Citalopram Work Straight Away?

   Hey, what you are experiencing is probably psychosomatic but that’s still a very encouraging factor as the more you believe in yourself the more likely you are to get better. I personally found that it took a few weeks for Escitalopram (very similar) to kick in but it is quicker than some other SSRI’s such as Prozac.

   It can start to work right away. When I was taking it I felt something the first day. It does keep building up in your system but, you can definitely feel something.
   Like with most medications, you take one and you feel something.
   Everyday you will feel it’s effects more and more.

   I found that they took a few weeks to kick in, but I had unpleasant side-effects for the first few weeks so wouldn’t have experienced an improved mood while I felt so ill. Whether they’re genuinely working early on, or you’re experiencing a placebo effect, don’t knock it! If it helps, enjoy it.

   It takes about a fortnight for them to kick in fully, then it builds up gradually in the brain. It’s probably a mixture of the tablets and knowing that you have done something to help yourself. They do work! Good luck!

   No it doesn’t, it takes several weeks before the benefits are experienced. Also, 10mg is a fairly low dosage as well so you are sub consciously feeling better.

   They usually take about a month until you get the effect you want … You might be right about the placebo effect it has on you.

   Im not sure if they work right away like that, but i did take that for about two years and it worked so well!
