Valium is a benzodiazepam.
Zanaflex is in its own unique category of a muscle relaxant. Both can achieve the same effect mentally. However Zanaflex was designed to relax muscles with less ( mental sedation)
Valium has a long half life and stays in the body for days. Zanaflex has a shorter half life ( hours)
So apples and oranges. But it depends on your point of view.
I have taken zanaflex and It is nothing like valium.. NOTHING!! If you have taken flexeril it doesnt even do as much as that!
