Those are some nice creatures you’ve drawn.
As for coloring with a drawing tablet, there’s really no trick to it. You will just basically have to practice and get used to using the tablet in general.
I got the Bamboo also (great for those of us without hundreds of dollars to spare). Heh, mine’s almost 5 years old though, and good news for you, it’s still going strong. And that’s saying a lot considering I’m not the most careful with it. I’ve dropped it countless times and even accidently threw it across the room. Among the scratches and loose cord, it’s still got a while left before I will be forced to retire it and look for a new one. So, if you take good care of yours, it should last much longer than mine. :)
Try watching speedpaintings on youtube. There’s lots of them. Despite the fact that they’re not giving you any direct instructions on how to color, you can still learn a lot just by watching different people’s processes.
Youtube also has many tutorials and guides to show you how the tools work in photoshop. Most of these will probably be demonstrating the tools on retouching photos, but they can still work for different uses in drawing and painting also.
And all in all, it’s about trial and error. Practice. Try it out. See what works for you.
Good luck, and always have fun!
